The new member of BGI GLOBAL
BGI GLOBAL has admitted a new member firm in Italy, completing one of the key jurisdictions in the network’s European coverage. The decision followed a two-day visit to the candidate firm’s offices in May 2026 by Óscar Gómez, partner at BGI LAW, the network’s member firm in Spain.
Why membership visits matter
Joining an international law firm network is not a formality at BGI GLOBAL. Every candidate firm is visited in person by a representative of the network, who meets its lawyers and assesses at first hand whether the firm can deliver the standard of service that member firms rely on when referring cross-border work.
That responsibility fell to Óscar Gómez, as member of BGI GLOBAL Governing Body, who travelled to Italy in May 2026 to evaluate the candidacy of the firms represented by Francesco Giuseppe.
Two days, four offices
On 12 May 2026, Óscar Gómez visited the firm’s offices in Florence, (RPC Tax&Legal) Lucca (Studio SIM) and Aulla (Studio Zolesi), covering both its Tuscan base and its presence in the Lunigiana region. The following day, 13 May, he visited the Milan office (LA&P), the firm’s principal centre for commercial and international work.
The visit gave the network a clear picture of a legal structure with genuine geographical reach across northern and central Italy — from the financial hub of Milan to the smaller regional centres where much of the country’s family-owned business activity is concentrated.
A favourable assessment
The overall impressions were highly positive. Following the visit and the subsequent report submitted by Óscar Gómez, it was agreed that the firms represented by Francesco Giuseppe, and the legal structure operating behind them in Italy, met the professional standards required to represent BGI GLOBAL in the country.
Formal admission to the network followed shortly afterwards.
What this means for clients
For clients of BGI GLOBAL member firms, the addition means direct access to Italian legal advice through a single point of contact within the network. Italy remains one of Europe’s largest economies and a constant destination for foreign investment, corporate transactions and cross-border disputes. Having a trusted member firm on the ground — rather than an ad hoc correspondent — shortens response times and gives clients continuity of service from one jurisdiction to the next.

The new Italian member firm will be introduced to the wider network at the XXVII BGI GLOBAL Annual General Meeting, to be held in Amsterdam from 16 to 19 September 2026.
