Andrew Zhang

Senior Partner

Andrew graduated from the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade in 2000, with a major in International Economic Law. He worked in the Logistics Department of Shanghai Jinghong Group and Angela Luo & Co., Lawyers. He joined A&Z Law Firm in 2009.

Among other areas, his expertise is in Company Law, M&A, Customs Logistics/Maritime Commerce and Dispute Resolution. He has provided legal services to numerous companies such as Kimberly-Clark, Philips, Mitsubishi, Takeda, Daiichi-Sankyo and other multinationals, and medium-sized companies, regarding their investments and operations in China. He has also led many projects, such as the project of “Providing high-quality information consulting services for foreign investment” entrusted by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the research project of “Shanghai Medium and Long-term Development Strategy” entrusted by Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. Andrew’s working languages are English and Chinese.

Katherine Yu

Attorney

Katherine provides legal services to international companies, who are investing and operating in China. Her focus is on corporate governance, cross-border transaction design, M&A, customs and logistics, intellectual property rights, and more. She also takes part in international commercial arbitration and litigation in China, and is experienced in providing labor and employment consulting and negotiation strategies to executives of multinational corporations in China.

Katherine holds a LLM from East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL), majoring in International Economic Law. During her Master’s degree, she participated in the academic exchange program of the University of Cambridge, researching and designing intelligent investment advisor models for blockchain and financial innovation projects, and won the project’s merit award. Katherine’s working languages are English and Chinese.

Anna Lukina

As a cross-cultural communicator, an experienced consultant and team leader, Anna is passionate about helping businesses succeed with their China market strategy. She has worked with numerous global clients, assisting multinationals, international SMEs, and groups to enter and expand in the Chinese market, and to navigate complex legal issues locally. A dynamic public speaker, Anna enjoys topics related to legal and business developments in China.

Anna has worked in leading corporate law firms and in-house in the UK, France and presently for almost a decade in China. Fluent in English, French, Latvian, and Russian, she is continuously improving her Chinese. Anna holds a BA from University of Oxford.

Elena Gomez

Elena provides support to companies regarding the legal aspects of their entry and expansion in the Chinese market, and assists them to successfully internationalize their business. She is a highly committed and versatile manager with over a decade of working experience in international corporations, such as EY, KPMG and EDF Group. Specialized in accounting, finance auditing, Elena became member of the Spanish Official Registry of Auditors (ROAC) after passing national official exam. Her working languages are Spanish and English.
