BGI Foundation for children
The BGI Foundation for Children is a non-profit organisation created within the framework of BGI Law and dedicated to protecting and promoting children’s rights and contributing to sustainable development.
The Foundation works to address situations of vulnerability and inequality, with a particular focus on children and young people. Its work is guided by the principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and by a commitment to equality, inclusion, participation and the protection of human rights.
Through international cooperation and partnerships with local organisations and institutions, the Foundation currently develops projects in the Dominican Republic, Peru, Colombia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Its initiatives respond to the specific needs of each community and promote locally driven and sustainable solutions.
Our areas of work include:
- Child protection and education, promoting safe and inclusive environments where children and young people can develop their potential and exercise their rights.
- International development cooperation, supporting initiatives that improve living conditions and expand opportunities for vulnerable communities.
- Youth participation and leadership, empowering young people to take an active role in their communities and become agents of social change.
- Gender equality and inclusion, addressing inequalities and promoting equal opportunities and participation.
- Education for development and awareness-raising, bringing human rights, global challenges and sustainable development closer to schools, communities and wider society.
The Foundation works alongside local partners, institutions and communities, combining technical expertise, local knowledge and active participation to contribute to lasting and meaningful change.
